After 12 years, a popular, must-see, Christmas lights display located in Absecon, has gone dark for the 2018 holiday season.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the once festive house on Sooy Lane, which was decorated with over 200,000 Christmas lights, will not be turned on for the holidays.

Owners Connie Havens and Charlie Auchter announced earlier that the dazzling multi- colored display of lights would take a holiday hiatus this Christmas. Finding the time and an unusually wet November were some of the reasons for the light show not happening this year, according to the report.

More than 5,000 people usually pack Sooy Lane every holiday season for this annual display. Notice about the lights going dark this year came on Thanksgiving night via Facebook on the Sooy Lane Light Show page.

There is good news though, a bigger display, with even more lights on Sooy Lane in Absecon will return for Christmas 2019!
