Updated: Expect Traffic Delays Monday in Atlantic City and Mays Landing

The funeral for fallen New Jersey State Trooper Frankie Williams will be taking place Monday and officials are advising the public of likely traffic delays in and around Atlantic City and Mays Landing.

Officials in Atlantic City are advising the public of the following road closures for Monday:

– Beach Block Texas – 8AM-4PM
– Beach Block Florida – 8AM-4PM
– Beach Block Mississippi – 8AM-4PM
– Mississippi Ave between Atlantic and Pacific Aves (northbound lanes) – 8AM-4PM
– Beach Block Columbia Place – 8AM-4PM (media parking area)
– Pacific Ave between Texas and Arkansas Aves – approximately 2-4PM
– Atlantic Ave between Georgia and Arkansas Aves – approximately 2-4PM
– Arkansas Ave between Pacific Ave and the Atlantic City Expressway – approximately 2-4PM

There will be no traffic crossing Arkansas Avenue during these times with the exception of emergency vehicles. We request that all motorists use Route 322, Route 30, or the Atlantic City Connector as alternate routes.

There will also be no bicycles allowed on the Boardwalk between Texas and Missouri Avenues.

Once services end in Atlantic City, Hamilton Township Police say Route 40 will be closed on Monday from 1 to 5PM from the Hamilton Mall (the 40/322 split) all the way down to the intersection of River Road and Main Street (the red sections shown on the map above).

There will also be periodic road closures at the intersection of Wrangleboro Road and the Atlantic City Expressway Exit 12 intersection and also at Wrangleboro Road and the Black Horse Pike.

WIlliams’ funeral will be Monday at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, according to the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home. A viewing will take place for friends and family from 8 to 10AM and law enforcement from 10AM to noon, followed by a service. Trooper Williams will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery on Route 40 in Mays Landing, next to the new St. Vincent de Paul Church.

Donations may be made in Frankie Williams memory to Fusion Church, 701 New Hampshire Ave, Somers Point, NJ 08244 or to the Survivors of the Triangle, 800 Denow Rd, Suite C #385, Pennington, NJ 08534.
