Step Up for the Arc Walk

Join Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG and The Arc of Atlantic County for the 15th Annual Step Up for the Arc Walk on Saturday, November 4th! Lite Rock 96.9 will be out at the walk from 8:30am until 11:30am with music and fun and games! Check-in begins at 8:3am, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. James Campus in Ventnor, with the walk kicking off at 9:3am to the Ventnor City Boardwalk for a 3.4-mile walk. Participants are welcome to run or bike ride the route as well.

The 15th Annual Step Up For The Arc Walk supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Registration for the walk is $25.00 per person for adults and $10 for children up to age 13. The Arc of Atlantic County’s goal is to raise $30,000 from this event. Participants are asked to register in advance for at www.thearcatlantic/2017stepup.

Breakfast including bagels, fruit, coffee, juice and more will fuel the walkers before the walk begins. A post-walk party following the walk will feature music and dancing with DJ Dan Slamme, complimentary hot dog lunch, and other refreshments and surprises! Fitness Instructors from Tilton Fitness & Wellness will provide the warm-up.

All proceeds will benefit The Arc’s Family Support programs. Family Support services give parents the opportunity to have their loved ones in after care program which helps them fulfill the duties of full-time employment.

Additionally, the programs provide caregivers a much-needed break from the often exhausting job of providing 24/7 care for their loved one, as well as provide an opportunity for people with I/DD to participate in skill-building and social activities and make friends.
