SUMMARY:Step Up for The Arc Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Arc of Atlantic County will host its 9th annual Step Up for The Arc Walk on the Ventnor Boardwalk. Help raise money and generate awareness for their programs that help more than 700 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families each year.    Registration is free. Walkers who raise $50 or more by the date of the walk will receive a complimentary long-sleeved event t-shirt.    Participants should meet at St. James Parish at 6415 Atlantic Avenue\, Ventnor City. The walk will kick off at 9:30am with the help of Lite Rock 96.9 and Tilton Fitness and continue onto the Ventnor boardwalk. There is no required distance to walk. A post-walk party will begin at 11:00am in the St. James Parish Hall and will feature lunch provided by the Galloway Township Elks Lodge\, music by DJ Howard Minnichbach\, face painting by Ginny Swift\, and more. DESCRIPTION:The Hammonton Mothers’ Club\, a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation\, will   be sponsoring the Hammonton 5K Run For Fun on Saturday\, May 5\, 2012 at   the Hammonton Lake Park\, 100 Sports Drive\, Hammonton\, NJ\, 08037.  All   proceeds of the event will benefit the Hammonton Parks and Recreation   Department which provides recreational programs and playground   facilities in the greater Hammonton area. The course will be a police   assisted run through the quaint and historic streets of Hammonton\, NJ   starting and ending at the Hammonton Lake Park. There will also be a 1   mile family walk in a traffic-free track. Prizes and medals will be   awarded to the top male and female runners. Other awards will be given   to the top male and female in the following age categories: junior to   age 19\, 20-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\, 35-39\, 40-44\, 45-49\, 50-59 and 60 and   above. Pre-registration deadline is April 14\, 2012\, all pre-entrants   will receive a t-shirt. Day of event registrations are not guaranteed a   t-shirt\, as supplies are limited. DESCRIPTION:Margate\, NJ – The 34rd annual St Patrick’s Day Boardwalk 10 miler and 5K run will be held Saturday March 17th.  The run starts in Margate at the Bloom Community Pavilion at 10:00am.  Participants can register in advance until March 15th at www.active.com or by mail.  In person registration on race day will be from 7:30am to 9:30am.  Long sleeve shirts will be provided to those who pre-register while supplies last.  The 10 miler will take runners from the Bloom Community Pavilion located behind the Margate Library to the boardwalk in Ventnor to Maryland Avenue in Atlantic City and back. SUMMARY:Wiliams Syndrome Walk
DESCRIPTION:Individuals with Williams syndrome(WS) have extraordinary gifts and unique challenges.  But not enough people know that. During a full week of activities in May\, volunteers for the Williams Syndrome Association (WSA) will work hard to inform our community and others across the country about Williams syndrome.  As part of the WS Awareness Week\, a Walk for Williams will take place in over 40 locations throughout the country to benefit the Williams Syndrome Association. Locally\, a walk will be held May 19\, 2012 on the boardwalk in Ventnor\, NJ\, presented by the Downbeach Film Festival.  Ventnor resident Bill Sokolic\, walk coordinator\, will be joined by local committee members and businesses to help spread the word about Williams syndrome and raise critical funding for programs.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the gazebo at Newport Avenue and the boardwalk; the walk starts at 10 a.m. and goes in both directions along the boardwalk. The majority of the money raised will directly enrich the lives of individuals and families affected by Williams syndrome. The remainder will help fund the Downbeach Film Festival\, which hosts the Atlantic City Cinefest\, October 12 to 14\, in Atlantic City.  Williams syndrome is a genetic condition that is present at birth and can affect anyone.  It is characterized by medical problems\, including cardiovascular disease\, developmental delays\, and learning disabilities.  Local residents are encouraged to come out and support families affected by Williams syndrome and the WSA. DESCRIPTION:Swim: 1/2 mile\, Bike: 16 miles\, Run: 4 miles.     Jersey Genesis Triathlon will be again including a high school challenge to the team division. Three students\, who all attend the same high school\, can enter as a team in the Triathlon. Teams consist of one swimmer\, one runner\, and one biker; teams may consist of all males\, all females\, or co-eds.    Student team entry fee is $60.00 and team name must include the name of the high school the athletes attend. Student school ID will be required at packet pick-up. High schools can enter several teams. SUMMARY:Family Fun Run at the Steel Pier
DESCRIPTION:The Atlantic City Rescue Mission has teamed up with the Steel Pier to put on a fun event called the "Mission 5K & Family Fun Run".  This fun race is a "race" against homelessness with all proceeds to benefit the ongoing programs to feed\, shelter\, and help the poor.  Lite Rock will be there from 8:30AM to 11:30AM!    There will be a 1 mile walk/fun run at 9:00 am followed by a 5K race at 10:00.  The race starts and ends at the Steel Pier on Virginia Avenue and the boardwalk and refreshments will be available after the race at the pier. DESCRIPTION:The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF) will hold its fifth annual Mitchell   McAllister Walk on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Sunday\, June 3.  The   annual walk is named in memory of ECF teen Mitchell McAllister. This   event will support ECF’s direct service programs\, as well as raise   visibility and awareness of the Southern Regional Center. Headquartered   in Woodbury\, New Jersey\, the Southern Regional Center of ECF serves the   counties of Atlantic\, Burlington\, Camden\, Cape May\, Cumberland\,   Gloucester\, and Salem.  The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit   501 (c) (3) organization that provides a variety of services\, at no   charge\, to any New Jersey family facing the challenges of caring for a   child with cancer.  We accomplish this through in-home professional   counseling\, advocacy services on behalf of the family\, material   assistance such as food\, clothing\, toys\, and household items\, and   emergency financial relief.  The walk will begin at 9:00 AM at the Civic   Center practice field\, 6th Street and the Boardwalk\, in Ocean City\,  New  Jersey.  Registration will begin at 8:30 AM. Festivities at the walk include a performance by The TidalWave band\, The Ocean City High School marching band will lead the walkers down the boardwalk from the Music Pier to 14th Street\, Michelle Dawn Mooney of TV40 will sing the National Anthem and The Ocean City American Legion will act as color guard and retire colors.    All adults raising $50 or more receive a t-shirt (while supplies last). All children raising $10 or more will receive a wristband for Gillian’s Wonderland Pier. DESCRIPTION:The Hammonton Mothers’ Club\, a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation\, will be sponsoring the Hammonton 5K Run For Fun on Saturday\, May 4\, 2013 at the Hammonton Lake Park\, 100 Sports Drive\, Hammonton\, NJ\, 08037. Proceeds of the event will benefit Hammonton Youth Recreation and the Hammonton Parks and Recreation Department which provides recreational programs and playground facilities in the greater Hammonton area. The course will be a police assisted run through the quaint and historic streets of Hammonton\, NJ starting and ending at the Hammonton Lake Park. There will also be a 1 mile family walk on a traffic-free track. Prizes and medals will be awarded to the top male and female runners. Other awards will be given to the top male and female in the following age categories: junior to age 19\, 20-24\, 25-29\, 30-34\, 35-39\, 40-44\, 45-49\, 50-59 and 60 and above. Finisher medals will be given to all children participants as well.  Pre-registration deadline is April 14\, 2013\, all pre-entrants will receive a t-shirt. Day  of event registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt\, as supplies are limited. Entry fees are per person\, kids 5 and under are free. 5K Pre-registration is $35\, 5K day of event is $40\, 1 Mile family walk is $10 per person or $35 per family. DESCRIPTION:The 19th Annual Donny Fund Day will be held at the Yacht Club of Pleasantville on Sunday\, June 9th from 8am to Noon.  Challenge yourself with a 2/5 mile bay course to row\, paddle\, kayak or swim across Lakes Bay and 5 K walk or run along Lakes Bay.  The Donny Fund Day is an open challenge for anyone who would like to participate in any activity.  For all water-related activities\, the course on Lakes Bay starts and finishes at the Yacht Club in Pleasantville.  Any seaworthy persons or vessels are eligible!  The course for walkers and runners will be a round-trip scenic course beginning at the Yacht Club\, along the shores of Lakes Bay\, to the end of Bay Drive\, which was once the location of the Sand Castle Restaurant. Registration for the run and  walk is $20 in advance\, $25 on race day\, and includes a T-­‐shirt.  Medals will be  awarded to the top male and female finishers\, and first-­‐place finishers in nine  age groups.
