DESCRIPTION:On Saturday March 24 and Sunday March 25 Bally's Atlantic City will host the Soap Opera Weekend with stars from General Hospital" and "The Young And The Restless." Genoa City's Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher)\, Michael Muhney (Adam Newman)\, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) and Stephen Nichols (Tucker McCall)\, as well as Port Charles' Port Chuck band members Steve Burton (Jason Quartermaine)\, Brandon Barash\, (Johnny Zacchara)\, Bradford Anderson (Damien Spinelli) and Scott Reeves (Dr. Steve Webber) will all be ready to spend two days with their fans.    Stars from "The Young And The Restless" will spend Saturday at Bally’s Park and Garden Ballrooms talking to audience members during four separate Q&A sessions. Soap Opera Weekend’s Joyce Becker will host each session beginning on the hour at 11.00 AM with the last session ending at 3.00 PM. Tickets are $40 and limited to 180 people per session.    Later that day the Panel Meet and Greet Wine Tasting will have the actors chatting about behind the scenes memories and answering more fan questions from 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM. Tickets are $85 and limited to 400 guests.    A gathering at the Traymore Ballroom will top off the night with a performance by Port Chuck. Tickets are $35\, $55 and $75.    On Sunday there will be a 10.00 AM Drama Brunch where the actors will be serving some of their favorites treats. This event lasts until 1.00 PM and tickets are $85. SUMMARY:South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble "Synergy" Concert
DESCRIPTION:The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble will present its 16th anniversary spring concert\, “Synergy\,” at 7:30 p.m. on Monday\, April 16\, 2012 at the Performing Arts Center of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. “Synergy” is not just the name of one of the pieces that will be performed\, but describes the concert overall – an exciting and dynamic interaction in which the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.  As the name suggests\, the resulting concert will be one to remember\, with pieces such as the “1812 Overture\,” “Synergy Rising\,” “America the Beautiful\,” and others.   Waretown resident\, Jessica Whelan\, a senior dance major at Montclair State University\, will perform the part of Scheherazade in Rimsky-Korsakov’s piece retelling the story of “One Thousand and One Nights.”    The 65-member group\, comprised of the area’s top professional musicians\, music educators and other highly accomplished musicians\, is one of only 41 community bands out of thousands across the United States to have won the John Philip Sousa Foundation’s Sudler Silver Scroll Award. This prestigious award\, in its 25th year\, goes to the very best community bands that have demonstrated excellence in musical performance.    The ensemble has a strong commitment to ensuring that the love of music is passed on to future generations.  Its members have worked closely with South Jersey’s finest student musicians\, and almost 50 students representing 12 area high schools and the Richard Stockton College of NJ have been selected to join them on stage to play “side-by-side” for the second half of the concert. DESCRIPTION:Wiser Charitable Enterprises\, Inc. is pleased to present VetRock 2013*\, an outdoor festival of music\, food\, arts and craft\, and a celebration of those who have served in the United States military\, who are charged with maintaining the freedoms we as Americans enjoy each and every day. Saturday\, June 1\, 2013 at Bader Field - Atlantic City\, NJ - Gates Open at 10:00am.    The goal of the VetRock Committee is to raise funds for the purposes of assisting all of our local veterans in honor of our Vietnam veterans\, living and past.  *Although WCEI and the VetRock2013 committee look forward to the support of all veteran service organizations please note that VetRock2013 is a Wiser Charitable Enterprises event\, and no other entity including local\, state or national veteran service organizations are a party to this event.  VetRock will be an all-day\, festival style rock & roll show featuring bands from the Vietnam era along with local bands as well as great food\, arts & crafts and activities.         We are pleased to announce Lt. Colonel Oliver North\, USMC\, retired to VetRock as our keynote speaker. Colonel North will be addressing the attendees and will also be available for photos and book signings.    In addition to Colonel North\, we have arranged for a stellar line-up of Vietnam Era bands to perform including Mark Farner (former lead vocalist from Grand Funk Railroad) and band\, Mytch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels\, The Soul Survivors\, The Buckinghams\, The Trammps\,Seven Stone\, Gypsy Asylum\, The Bob Sterling Band\, and the Jeremiah Hunter Band\, all hosted by New Jersey's own\, Joe Piscopo\, who will be our MC as well as performing with his own band. Even Miss New Jersey 2012\, Lindsey Petrosh will be making an appearance.    VetRock 2013 will also host many food and beverage vendors\, arts and craft exhibitors\, and other available merchandise.    Come out and enjoy a 200 vehicle classic car show courtesy of Nostalgia Knights.    Be sure to purchase tickets now as VetRock promises to be a great day for the entire family.
