EHT Man Arrested for Alleged Home Burglary

An Egg Harbor Township Man is in police custody after an alleged home burglary attempt. The suspect was caught holding a machete. 

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Police in Hamilton Township were called to a  burglary-in-progress at a local residence on Mays Landing-Somers Point Road. The owner called police during the alleged burglary attempt which occurred around Sunday at 2 AM..

Police found  Dominic Pileggi, 30, of Egg Harbor Township hiding in a wooded area behind a pile of brush. Pileggi was holding a machete in his hand when he was apprehended. His bike was also found nearby.  The suspect is being held in the Atlantic Count Jail. Charges include burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. The suspect was also take to Shore Medical Center after sustaining minor injuries.
