The New Jersey State Police and Shore Animal Control are looking for information about who dumped a lab terrier mix on Route 40 in Buena Vista Township in early May.

Police initially thought the dog had recently been hit by a car, but it was later determined that he couldn't use his left leg because of a previous hit by car injury. There was severe nerve damage and his leg had to be amputated.

To report information on the dog or its previous owners, call Shore Animal Control at 1-800-351-1822.

A fund has been set up by Shore Animal Aid to help with the cost of the surgery. To make a donation visit www.gofundme.com/23r3ygrw or shoreanimalcontrol.com.
