Chowderfest, Hero Walk, Oktoberfest

The tourists have all gone home, sweatshirts are replacing t-shirts and the traffic lights on Atlantic Avenue in Margate are blinking. Fall has arrived in South Jersey. This is the first weekend of October and that means soups on! Chowder, specifically.

The 28th annual LBI Chowderfest takes place Sunday in Beach Haven and if you have never been, you simply must give it a try! Chowderfest Weekend goes on rain or shine at the Taylor Avenue ball field, Ninth Street and Taylor Avenue in Beach Haven, across from Schooner’s Wharf.

There is more good chowder and chili eating to be had in Ocean City as the Ocean City Restaurant Association presents the Chili Chowder Festival, benefiting our friends at the Humane Society of Ocean City, from 12 - 4p Sunday 10/2 at the Tennessee Avenue Soccer Complex. Ocean City Restaurant Association members will bring their favorite chili or chowder recipe for people to taste.
