South Jersey's commemoration of National Cancer Survivors Day will again feature the release of over one hundred butterflies this Saturday, June 2nd at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Cancer Care Center in Egg Harbor Township.  The second annual "Wings of Hope Butterfly Release" by cancer survivors and their loved ones  is sponsored by AtlantiCare and Gilda's Club South Jersey.  Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG will be on hand as I act as emcee for Saturday morning's program.

The symbolic release of the monarch butterflies is intended to show the world... that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.

Saturday's event, which runs from 9-11a.m., also features  food and activities for the  kids, and presentations by the Gilda's Club South Jersey acting troupe, The Gilda's Club Players,  Dr. Michael Kane of the AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, and cancer survivor Margaret Moretti.

The event is free.  To arrange a release of your own butterfly for only $10, call 888-569-1000,  Monday- Friday 9-5p.m.  The AtlantiCare Care Care Institute is at 2500 English Creek Ave, building 400 in Egg Harbor Township.

Last year's Wings Of Hope Butterfly Release was a very moving and beautiful event for South Jersey cancer survivors and their loved ones and I'm looking forward to being a part of  it again this Saturday!  I hope to see you there!
