Oh, the irony... a camera in Atlantic City captured two teenagers who were trying to damage a camera.

Atlantic City Police say just before 4:00 Tuesday morning, surveillance center personnel monitoring security cameras in Stanley Holmes Village observed two men trying to damage a camera in the 1500 block of Wabash Place. Cops say the two took turns climbing a fence and attempted to smash the camera’s dome with what appeared to be a handgun; one man struck the dome with a metal pipe.

Officers responded and they stopped several males. An airsoft replica handgun was recovered in the waistband of a 17-year-old boy. He was arrested along with a 16-year-old.

After being charged, the boys were turned over to their parent/guardian who was also issued an ordinance violation for allowing the boys to be out past curfew.

The camera done only sustained minor damage.

Both teens were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of an imitation firearm, criminal mischief, and curfew violation.
