Brigantine Man Wins $8.1M in World Series of Poker [VIDEO]

A man from Brigantine is basking in the afterglow of winning over $8 million this weekend playing poker.

Brigantine's Scott Blumstein won the 2017 World Series of Poker championship on Saturday night in Las Vegas, beating French pro Benjamin Pollak and Dan Ott from Altoona, Pa.

With the victory, Blumstein, 25, won $8.15 million and the diamond-encrusted championship bracelet.

Blumstein, who entered the final threesome with a large lead, saw his chip total dip in the first 60 minutes of play, which was aired on ESPN, but he quickly rallied -- winning his first hand with a 100 million chip bluff on Ott.

He became emotional afterwards talking about his parents being there to help him celebrate his victory. His mother is a three-time breast cancer survivor.

Blumstein, who grew up in Morristown, graduated from Temple in 2014, previously won $199,854 at a Borgata poker tournament in 2016.
