Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Breezy” the dog.  Breezy is a 9 month old hound mix with black and tan markings.

Here is some information on Breezy from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

“Breezy came to the HSOC about 11pm on Saturday Nov.12, 2016.  His transport, which had left Georgia early on Friday morning, broke down in Virginia and he had to wait over 12 hours for a replacement transport to continue his journey! He had been abandoned in the breezeway (his name-sake) of a veterinarian's office down in Georgia.
Breezy is a 9 month old hound mix. He is black w/ tan markings and has soft eyes, "airplane" ears, and a big, sweet, dopey nose! He has a wonderfully easy going personality, like his name implies, he is "easy-breezy-lemon-peezy"!

He is good with other dogs, probably okay with cats, and should be fine for children ~ 8-10 and up.. He is a gentle boy, not overly vocal, has good confidence but is not obnoxious.
Breezy is a little on the serious side, though he is so young that learning to play. Learning to "dog" in new ways is an exciting and rewarding experience waiting for the right home! Breezy would do best in a calm or moderately busy home; a high-activity household may be too chaotic for him.

He enjoys walking, seems to be housebroken. Likely he was in a home before being abandoned. If you think you'd like to see if Breezy is pooch for you
or your family, come on down and meet him today!

If you would like to visit Breezy or need more information about any animal up for adoption at The Humane Society of Ocean City, call 609-399-2018 or stop in any day between 11a-3p.To adopt from the HSOC you will need one form of identification, which includes your name, permanent address and proof of ownership (i.e., local tax stub).

If you rent, written approval from your landlord is required as well as personal identification. The adoption fee is $50.00 for cats or kittens and $85 for dogs, adults and puppies.

They accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards. Checks are accepted upon management’s approval. All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip if requested, free first vet exam, and all necessary vaccinations through the first year. Adoption applications are available at the shelter.
