Benefit Concert Saturday for Ocean City High Student with Cancer
A benefit concert is being held Saturday, March 14th for Sarah Lucey, a 15-year-old sophomore at Ocean City High School recently diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer.
According to the fundraising page set up to help her at the website gofundme.com, "Sarah is a strong, wonderful young lady. She has a long battle ahead with 40 weeks of chemo.
The Lucey family will be traveling to Philadelphia on a weekly basis for these treatments and under the care of some wonderful doctors at CHOP.
Sarah is a vibrant, intelligent, 15 year old with a quirky, spirited personality. She is determined, strong, brave and ready to fight through this battle."
Sarah is facing the treatments after a mass was discovered recently in her sinus cavity.
The gofundme page has received over $10,000 in donations for Sarah since being created March 1st.
The Family Aid Benefit Concert this Saturday, March 14th at 6pm at the Parkway South Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4 Rt. 9 in Marmora will feature singer Karla Rivera and pianist Ingrid Foress. Admission is free, but donations are requested.
