The Humane Society of Ocean City presents their annual Barks on the Boards fundraiser this Sunday, May 27th from Noon to 2p.m.  Hundreds of dogs and their proud owners will converge at the Music Pier,  before setting off for a nice walk down the Ocean City Boardwalk.  The dogs are also invited  to compete in a costume and talent show and prizes are awarded.

I remember helping out at past years' Barks on the Boards, along with the late, great South Jersey Elvis impersonator Ted Prior. Good memories of  fun times!

"Barks" is a great community event on the Ocean City Boardwalk at the beginning of summer and the dogs love it! The event marks one of the few times dogs are  allowed on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Barks on the boards is an important yearly  fundraiser for the humane Society of Ocean City, with all the money raised going directly toward care of the animals at the shelter.

All dogs must have current rabies vaccinations and remained leashed at all times. The Humane Society recommends that dogs under three months of age sit it out until next year.

Advance registration for Barks on the Boards is $15 and is $20 on Sunday at the Music Pier, between 8th and 9th Street,  with registration beginning at 11:30a.m.
