After two, one-run loses in games over the weekend, the local kids competing in the Babe Ruth World Series turned in a one-run win Monday.

Behind pitcher Kyle Gerace's complete game shut out performance, the Atlantic Shore team, a group of 13 to 15 year-old all-stars from Atlantic and Cape May counties, defeated Twin Cities, Washington 1-0.

With the win, Atlantic Shore moves on in the tournament being played in Loudoun County, Virginia, and will face the team from Tallahassee/Leon Florida Wednesday at 11am.

With a win on Wednesday, Atlantic Shore will be guaranteed at least third place in their division and will advance to the next round beginning Thursday.

Any more loses would mean the end of a great year for coach Bill Rauzzino and his team from South Jersey.  Good luck, Atlantic Shore!
