If you believe everything you see on TV, one would think that the Atlantic City boardwalk was swept away in Hurricane Sandy.  As an Atlantic City resident, I took a walk on the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk with my neighbor, Cherish. The event was organized to show the world that the Atlantic City Boardwalk is alive and well. It was emotional and uplifting to see people who live, work and play in Atlantic City, come together and let the world know it's still standing and open for business.  It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday afternoon to enjoy the simple joy of "walking the boards".

Of course, there was an older section of the boardwalk, on the northern end of town, that did crumble from Sandy's impact. However, that section would likely have been torn down soon anyway. In fact, most it has been off limits to walkers for months.
