Just after 10PM last Thursday night, Atlantic City police officers attempted to stop a car in the 700 block of Drexel Avenue. Once stopped, three people inside the car all fled on foot. Two officers chased one of the occupants, 22-year-old Aabid Abduluqda of Atlantic City, and were able to catch him.  Police say Abduluqda began to resist the officers and after being taken into custody. Officers say he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun that had been stolen earlier this month in Stafford Township.

The other two occupants of the vehicle were never located and their identities are unknown. After the vehicle was towed away from the scene, police found 70 bags of heroin.

Abduluqda is now facing a long list of charges, including possession of heroin, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $75,000.
