A vacant store in Mays Landing is about to become the home of a national retailer.

We learned in May, 2016, that Sports Authority was facing financial problems and would likely be closing all of its stores, including the one on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. That store, along with all of the other ones across the country, did close last summer, leaving a void in the Hamilton Commons Shopping Center.

That is until now.

Within the past few days, a banner was placed on the front of the former Sports Authority store proclaiming Hobby Lobby would soon move into the empty space.

Hobby Lobby owns about 600 stores across the country, including three in our region in Millville, Sicklerville, and Deptford. Hobby Lobby is just that - a store that sells things for hobbies, like crafting, scrapbooking, some home decor items, stuff for parties, and more. And, much like Chick-Fil-A, you won't be shopping there on Sundays.
