American Idol Ratings Down Again

Did you watch the season premiere of American Idol last night? Even with three new judges yesterday's season opener was down 18% from last year.American Idol's 12th season opener from New York averaged 17.9 million viewers, down from 21.9 from last year. The 2011 premiere averaged 26.9 viewers.

Idol still  remains the top-rated singing competition, easily beating fall premieres of NBC's The Voice (12.3 million) and Fox's own The X Factor (8.7 million).

I do miss Steven Tyler but kind of liked the new judges. The so called feud between Mariah Carey and rapper Nicki Minaj heats up tonight with another round of auditions from Chicago.
