Stockton University's Martin Luther King Day of Service program continues to grow and excel each year, offering opportunities for the Stockton community and the public to participate in projects that will make a difference in South Jersey, nationally or internationally.

Here are five programs being offered today at Stockton's Galloway campus that welcome participation from  everyone. Click for specific times and locations.

- Help Books Without Borders by packing boxes of book for shipment to Zimbabwe by the end of the month.on-campus; TRLC Main Room at Stockton

- Join Circle K in the Event Room at Stockton, where volunteers will assist with making PB & J sandwiches for ACRM, flash cards for the Salvation Army, cards for Cards for Hospitalized kids

- Join Together Atlantic County is holding an workshop on the topics of addiction as a disease and addiction and recovery anti-stigma workshop in the Campus Center Theatre, followed by a community outreach program to hand out prescription drug dissolving bags in Galloway. Note to Volunteers: Mature Content, may not be appropriate for young children.

- The South Jersey Humanists invite you  to participate in Amnesty International’s annual "Write for Rights" campaign. We will focus on 6 cases from around the world, writing letters of support to and on behalf of victims of illegal detention, torture, coercion, political corruption, and blatant human rights abuses. Please join us for an hour (or more) and use your voice and pen to make a difference. All materials are provided. Note to Volunteers: Some cases include mature content but there are options for all.

-Stockton EMS is offering training to Stockton students, staff, faculty, and community members in CPR to prepare for an emergency event.The goal is to create a high likelihood that a bystander will have the knowledge of how to perform CPR in the event of an emergency.
