April Kauffman was murdered in her Linwood home three years ago this Sunday. The well-known veterans advocate and local radio host was found shot to death in her  bedroom on May 10th, 2012.  There has still been no arrest in the murder.

Because the third anniversary of her death coincides with Mother's Day, friends and family of Kauffman have decided not to hold a candlelight vigil this year, instead encouraging supporters to sign a petition demanding Justice for April.
Here is the petition...

"On the morning of May 10, 2012, April Kauffman was found murdered in the sanctuary of her bedroom of her home located in Linwood, New Jersey. The home that she shared with her husband was located within blocks of three schools that were actively in session. Once April’s murder was discovered that morning, not one of those three schools was locked down as the then prosecutor of Atlantic County stated an arrest was imminent.

Three years have since passed and NO ONE has been charged with her murder!

April was a brilliant, generous, loving, vivacious 47-year old mother with two beautiful grandsons and many, many beloved friends. In addition, April was an advocate for our Nation’s Veterans. Just days before her murder in May 2012, April received the State of New Jersey Governor’s Jefferson Award which honored her advocacy and volunteerism with our Veterans. April fought tirelessly for our Country’s proudest to receive fair and just medical treatment along with the recognition and admiration that they deserve.

April was also an active member and volunteer for the American Red Cross, the National Association of Uniformed Services, the National Corvette Museum’s Vettes n Vets annual event, the Wounded Warrior Program, Disabled Sports USA / Warfighter Sports, the American Legion Post 352 Family, the Stockton University Student Veterans Organization, and the Atlantic County Toys for Kids among many others.

April’s murderer cannot continue to walk free! Please join us to demand Justice for April and to petition the Atlantic County Prosecutor and/or the State of New Jersey to actively investigate and charge her killer with the murder of our beloved friend and advocate. Thank you."
