Everything old is new again as the self-declared “Greatest Show on Earth” returns to Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center from Feb 17-21.

The 144-year-old Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey troupe is back with its “Legends” show and it's a great way to pass 21/2 hours with your kids.

Ringling Bros. is a calibrated cavalcade of Americana circus culture — lion tamers, dancing dogs, plenty of clowns (no shortage here!), and the like — and a curated selection of unusual acts from around the globe.

The performances come rapid-fire and are often stunning, including the Torreses, a family act from Paraguay, manages to squeeze an escalating number of zooming motorbikes inside a 16-foot steel spherical cage.

Less terrifying, but no less mesmerizing, are the unison cycling and synchronized yo-yoing of the China National Acrobatic Troupe. More curious, or just oddball, are the Medeiros troupe, a group of female acrobats who perform various tricks while hanging from their coiled hair. Ouch!
