Carrie Underwood was typical Carrie Underwood at the 2013 Grammys. She was polished, put together, pretty -- and safe.

The country superstar and blonde beauty wore a black lace Roberto Cavalli gown (RC seemed to be the designer of choice for many stars on the Grammy red carpet) with a strapless top and a slightly flared bottom. She certainly stunned, especially because she paired the gorgeous gown with lots of ice around her neck.

"I thought sticking with something both classic and glam would be good tonight," the 'Blown Away' singer said. Mission accomplished. We don't think her "safe" red carpet style is a bad thing by any means -- she's consistent and rarely has a misstep. She just doesn't go overboard or take any risks. (But that's okay. That's what Rihanna's for.)

The big question? Whether she'll make nice with Taylor Swift.
