2 Teens Arrested in Autumn Pasquale’s Death [PHOTOS/VIDEO]
Moments ago, officials in Clayton, Gloucester County announced that two teenage brothers have been arrested and charged with killing 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale.
The names of the teens, ages 15 and 17, were not released. The prosecutor also said a decision has not yet been made on whether or not to charge the teens as adults.
However, we do know the 15-year-old was also charged with one count of luring.
Police say the teens' mother called them after becoming concerned about Facebook postings.
FOUND IN A RECYCLING BIN
According to WPVI-TV, investigators say Autumn's cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma consistent with strangulation. There was no sign of sexual assault, investigators also said.
Autumn's body was found around 10:00 p.m. Monday in a recycling container not far from her Clayton home.
The GCPO Major Crimes Unit, along with the office's Crime Scene Unit, the Clayton Police Department, officers of the New Jersey State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other municipal police in Gloucester County has transitioned from a search to a criminal investigation.
Autumn's uncle, Paul Spadafora, spoke at the news conference earlier in the day, saying "Our little angel Autumn has reached out to the world in her own special way. She's an angel. She was an angel here on Earth, and she's an angel up in Heaven."
The Find Autumn Pasquale Facebook page was transformed from a place of hope and encouragement to finding Autumn alive to one of remembrance with calls for justice. "My prayers go out to her family and friends and hope they catch this sick person or persons and give the family justice R.I.P. Autumn," posted Ann Marie Ellils. "I am so sad to hear this it is heartbreaking I hope the person who did this pays," posted Christina Civinski.
