We already knew that many of Hollywood’s favorites are from New Jersey, but did you know New Jersey has played the role of set to many movies?
New Jersey has been the film location to many movies and television shows. Here are 10 movies that were filmed in South Jersey.
The Bounty Hunter
This 2010 rom-com starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler not only partially took place in New Jersey, but also was filmed in South Jersey. Atlantic City was used in part of the film.
Clean and Sober
This Ron Howard film from 1988 was filmed in Gloucester City. The movie starred Michael Keaton, Kathy Baker, and Morgan Freeman.
The Pick-up Artist
Robert Downey Jr. and Molly Ringwald starred in this 1987 movie. Most of the movie was filmed in New York City, however Atlantic City did make an appearance.
With an all star cast with Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Donald Sutherland, and New Jersey’s own James Gandolfini, this 1998 film shot in Mullica Township.
The Godfather: Part III
The final installment of the Francis Ford Coppola trilogy was filmed in Atlantic City.
Although the popular Ocean’s movies were based in Vegas the first of the trilogy filmed some scenes in Atlantic City.
Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Nick Nolte starred in this 2011 MMA movie. The movie was filmed in the very popular Atlantic City.
Remember when Bennifer was a thing? In 2004 it was. Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, George Carlin and Jason Biggs starred in this 2004 film directed by Jersey’s own Kevin Smith. The movie was filmed in Berlin, Cherry Hill, and Paulsboro.
Nothing But a Man
This 1964 film, starring Ivan Dixon of Hogan’s Heroes, was set in the deep south was actually filmed in Atlantic City and Cape May.
A 1964 Alfred Hitchcock film starring Tippi Hedren, Sean Connery, and Martin Gabel about a man who marries a woman named Marnie who is a thief and psychological problems. Part of the movie was filmed at the racetrack in Atlantic City.
